I just had my waist-length hair cut by my long-time stylist (of about 15 years). I gave him only four directives before he began: Make it age-appropriate, flattering, easy to maintain, and no coloring. The resulting cut is just OK and not the transporting experience I'd hoped for. While it's true that the new style's unfamiliarity may be adding to my unhappiness, it's just not flattering. In fact, it's the way my mother-in-law wears her hair.
If you were me, would you live with it, call the stylist and tell him the situation, or make an appointment with someone new?
And if you suggest revisiting the stylist, would you expect that I would have to pay again?

I totally know how you feel. I know I can't see it but you may want to leave it alone, because some times a little bit of new growth starts making it hang allot better,sometimes things that look bad or to blunt or what ever kind of blend in with some new growth, some new growth can even blend the cut when it is actually cut wrong also. If you have it re cut,you may still hate it and your hair will be even shorter. Trust me I totally know where you are coming from. Give it three or four weeks and then if you really can not stand it go have it tweaked a little at the salon. Good luck

when i got my hair cut i hated it..the cut was to short. the colour was wrong and the hair dresser blamed it on me..but hey its only hair yeah,

Oiy, a bad cut is hard to fix. You probably should have given him objective directions because the things you said are so subjective--they can mean different things to different people, so neither of you is at fault.

you shouldn't have to pay again if you are unhappy. the other thing is if you donated it to locks of love you wouldn't have to feel so badly because you would know that no matter what you may look like at least you donated to a good cause.

I would definately contact the stylist and tell them that you are not satisfied. And they should NOT charge you for something you've already paid for. You are probably not the only person that has done this before. It's your hair, you need to make it clear that you do not like it. .. Good luck!

go to citysearch.com. thats happend to me before. there is one salon-- $25 for a haircut and it comes out beautiful and blow dryed every time... theres another one $25 for a haircut where i went last time. i was in tears and i hid for a whole two weeks.

Revisit the stylist and tell him you want him to *fix this*. Remind him of the directive that it be flattering and say that you don't feel that it is flattering. If he is not willing to fix it free of charge, get another stylist and go there from now on. If your stylist isn't interested in keeping a long term customer, he's got worse problems than bad taste in styles!

this isn't your stylist fault! you did not give him/her an exact cut you wanted to have. you kinda left it in thier hands. ya kinda was asking for a let down. you need to know what you want when getting a new style. you would probably expect to pay again for a new cut conidering you realy didn't know what you wanted. goog luck hope all turns out well!

yeah you do feel my pain i hear ya. It stinks cause if you can't see your self looking gorgeous then how do you expect others to see you? very disappointing your right. Good luck with it and give it a few days. I'd go back to the origianl stylist. they need to know your not happy at all... So they do not mess up anyone elses hair.
